About this deal

This fantastic Counting Activity Resource Pack from Twinkl has been created specially in conjunction with The Imagination Tree, after I asked if they could be done! The actual version of “ Itsy Winsy Spider” was later printed in 1947 by the California Folklore Society in the Western Folklore collection.

I knew I wanted to make one but I wasn’t expecting to do it right then and there so I just used what I had around, that’s why you see I didn’t have enough green rice and these are not an Instagram friendly photos lol. Incy Wincy Spider” (also popularly known as “ Itsy Bitsy Spider”) is one of the most popular nursery rhyme. How many different creatures can you find - worms, slugs, snails, caterpillars, beetles, ants, woodlice, ladybirds? This joyful rhyme describes how a spider goes up, comes downs and again climbs up the waterspout of a gutter system. For slightly older children you could create a large web on the wall or across a corner of the room using cotton thread, then dangle these high frequency word spiders from it as a fun and striking way to have them on permanent display. I love this game because it can be a color recognition activity for the younger ones but also a matching game for older toddlers. i was a bit jealous of your ever so black playdough so I went and found your black playdough original post. The pictures would be great for turning into little books as well, which the children could annotate.

Note: Cut out before you laminate, because if you laminate the pages together and then laminate, when you cut out your paper squares, the papers will separate. Itsy Bitsy Spider tells the adventures of a Spider, named Itsy Bitsy (or Incy Wincy – more popular in England) who is going up and down, and up again, as the weather is chaining. By using the Web site, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agreed to be bound by the Terms and Conditions.I had done this when Manu was a baby and each time we have played with it is a different experience. This activity is great for promoting listening and concentration skills, and learning rhymes by memory. Ohhh I had purple glitter because it was a spooky spider but I’d I changed it to blue, then it would act as the rain! Grab some black and white Playdough, googly eyes, pipe cleaners, cut up straws and a small tray and create a spider invitation to play. Discover the joy of reading with us, your trusted source for affordable books that do not compromise on quality.

On top we added googly eyes and then attached them to bamboo skewers with tape, and turned them into super simple stick puppets! We kept it simple just adding a few spiders and some spoons and bowls to encourage transferring and scooping skills.I let him spread the glue as he pleased all over the page and then gave him string pieces already precut to be placed over the glue creating a spider web. I loved that after a few times of reading it left a few words out in the spider response and my son was finishing it up! A collection of Incy Wincy (Itsy Bitsy) Spider activities and resources to encourage creativity, counting and literacy development for young children! Check the full post here for variations of this game for all ages and different ways to play with it . Rhyming text and beauitful, hand-stitched illustrations make this an ideal book for parents and young children to share.
