About this deal

Germans and their rules: Vintners are not allowed to add tea or juice or anything to their Glühwein. According to the Wine Ordinance (§ 38 (1a)), Glühwein may only be called Vintner Glühwein if the Vintner produced it on their own premises, with their own grapes and only added aromas and spices and natural sugars. My dad's side of the family is from Hamburg, Germany... making this is a very special family recipe! This recipe is definitely the "easy" way to make hot German wine by using the Gluhfix tea bags. This tea can be made in a large batch and, after being left to cool completely, stored in an airtight glass pitcher in the fridge for up to 3 days. To reheat, pour the tea into a small milk pot and heat over a low heat until warm or your desired temperature is reached. With the weather starting to get very chilly I thought it was time to create an alcohol free version. Simmer. Heat until the wine almost reaches a simmer over medium-high heat. (Avoid letting it bubble in any way. Alcohol begins to vaporize at 172°F, so take care to ensure that the wine does not evaporate.) Reduce heat to low, cover completely, and let the wine simmer for at least 15 minutes or up to 3 hours.

Hibiscus tea is a herbal infusion from the dried calyx (or sepals) of the roselle flower (Hibiscus sabdariffa ). Sweet in flavour, with hints of cranberry, hibiscus tea is high in Vitamin C, and studies have shown that it can help to reduce blood pressure.Once you have your sachets made and placed in your jars, all that’s left is tying your tags onto the jars using ribbon or twine. If you prefer your Glühwein stronger (in alcohol), add a shot or two of rum or amaretto to the pot or a shot to the mug. Taste the Glühwein with tea and adjust your sugar as necessary. Alcohol free. This recipe uses hibiscus and rosehips herbal tea instead of red wine, rum or brandy. Use a chai tea bag: In place of the cloves and star anise, feel free to steep 1 or 2 chai tea bags in the mulled wine (preferably caffeine-free, if you are serving this to a group in the evening).

Simmer them with syrup for a spiced topping to homemade buttermilk pancakes or brioche French toast. You can reheat mulled wine in a coffee mug in the microwave or reheat leftover Gluhwein on the stove top. Sugar free. A virgin mulled wine without alcohol (or Kinderpunsch recipe if you’re in Germany) is normally made by replacing red wine with fruit juice, such as cranberry or pomegranate. The use of hibiscus and rosehips herbal tea instead makes this a refined sugar free mulled wine recipe. This traditional homemade mulled wine recipe is incredibly easy to make and always SO cozy and delicious.

All you have to do is heat some apple cider, add your homemade mulling spice sachets, and then simmer until the flavor is right where you want it. If you want to make a nonalcoholic mulled wine recipe called, Kinderpunsch, that can be made using the same spices and simmered with apple cider, cranberry, or grape juice. Hibiscus, Apple Pieces, Orange Peel, Rosehip, Ginger, Cinnamon, Cloves, Allspice Berry, Natural Flavouring.
