About this deal

Is it the purple and grey one with the purple wand end or the purple and silver one with the purple wand cap and purple hose release side buttons? The Dyson DC14 is also approved for allergy sufferers -- all models carry the British Allergy Foundation Seal of Approval.

I'd much rather have a 250w low suction Hoover Junior with a nice brushroll and beaters to clean a carpet than a high suction Dyson with a crappy brushroll but plenty of suction. Suction is not the most important a factor, but it is one of the important factors so that it can pick up the dust, and lift the carpet to bring it closer to the brushbar. Finished with auto-height adjustment and a quick-release wand, you'll be able to reach dirt and dust in all kinds of high up nooks and crannies with ease as well as across a wide range of flooring with this Dyson upright vacuum. Many manufacturers inexplicably have the capacitor wired in before the switch, not after, resulting in the possibility of a nasty tingle to anyone who touches the pins. The clear bin is ade from tough polycarbonate -- the same material used in crash helmets -- so it's strong and durable.I have not done actual testing on the difference in cleaning between the two but must say I always found the dc14 had slightly better suction on the tools. To calculate the overall star rating and percentage breakdown by star, we don’t use a simple average. I rigged a belt on the mower the other day, and it started cutting grass again, until i went to start it up again and the solenoid caught on fire! We have a textured rug in tone of our living rooms and it means that the surface is UN even, this DC14 can seal itself onto that carpet as I push and pull it along, whereas others. By the time I had vacuumed the bedroom, landing, and thin pole large area rugs downstairs, I noticed it picked up loads of dirt, and I had used a DC05 the night before till it blew up, and then a DC04 Absolute after it. When I had finished doing the landing, I decided to vacuum my bedroom and noticed that the sole plate wasnt fitted properly since I had changed the motor! The reason dyson put the filter in the top was they could make the filter bigger thus a bigger filter surface area.

You're making out here that this DC14 is the greatest thing ever to clean a carpet with, but yet you're not actually backing this up with anything and your limited experience is working against you. No, it actually seals, but not THAT strong, but better than others, which shows how better it is on carpets, compared to the others by focusing the suction. Some newer DC07's and 14's have newer sole plates with struts which are thick and stick out so that the sole plate can lose suction to pick up larger debris. Think of the suction leaking without the seals, must have accidently binned them whilst refurbishing the machine.

Get the replacement part you need for your Dyson DC14 from the UK's largest supplier of appliance spare parts. that's what started my Snapper Riding Mower's endless stream of trouble, it burns trough belts like crazy! The floor tool in a vacuum cleaner is the attachment that does the job when it comes to cleaning your floors. What I did then, was to swap the cable, motor and switch from my other DC14 all floors because it had a broken chassis. You're also saying that the thing that makes it good is the sealed suction at the cleaner head, but then you've said above that "the seal isn't that strong"? Not sure what you mean when you say "suction is not the most important a factor, but it is one of the important factors so that it can pick up the dust, and lift the carpet to bring it closer to the brushbar. Model numbers usually consist of a manner of letters and numbers, and may also include characters such as a slash (/) or a dash (-).

Bought the DC14 to replace an 8-year-old DC04 that had survived some serious mistreatment over the years (they're not really meant to suck up wet wallpaper and plaster). One quirk with the DC07, DC14 and possibly DC33 is that the cleaner head doesn't seal to the carpet right away. I have just acquired a decent condition Dyson DC14i its cyclone top is a dark purple colour and it also has a clutch control knob, on the Cyclone label is printed DC14i, what does the letter I stands for ?Dyson no longer make these filters, however we are able to offer you these great after-market alternatives. Like many Dyson fans, you're saying that more suction = better performance and that's not always the case. I have to either 1) push and pull it a few times or 2) kick the head down with my foot to make the seal. The earliest models still had a removable filter panel at the bottom like the DC07, which was empty of a filter and carried a message inside of it advising the user that this was a 'duct' and nothing else.
