About this deal

The artists took full advantage of the Seventies setting to go wild with the color design, and thanks to the wide color gamut that HDR provides, there’s a dazzling array of bold colors and subtle shadings on display here. This UHD release of Minions: Rise of Gru includes two mini movies, an extended scene, outtakes, and several additional featurettes. The Seventies setting provides an opportunity for different visuals and especially different music, with the soundtrack offering a wide collection of classic songs, covers of classic songs, and sometimes both. The auditory is rich in clarity and detail which allows the subtle environmental sounds in the recording to easily be heard.

In the past 10 years at Why So Blu, Brandon has amassed over 1,500 reviews of 4K, Blu-ray and DVD titles. For those not familiar with the details regarding Ultra HD Blu-ray you can refer to my article that includes some pertinent data on the subject. Get double the Minions in this two movie collection which includes the original Minions movie and the brand new Minions: The Rise of Gru! Once again, it’s Belle Bottom who really stands out, with her variegated shades of pink, blue, and purple—there’s a veritable cornucopia of different kinds of purples going on here, and that’s equally true of the alternate form that she takes for the film’s finale. To calculate the overall star rating and percentage breakdown by star, we don’t use a simple average. Clarity/Detail: Minions: The Rise Of Gru arrives on 4K Ultra-HD Blu-ray and it looks marvelous as to be assumed. He interviews to join the Vicious 6 but it goes badly and things get worse when he outsmarts them and finds himself their mortal enemy.

I didn’t even notice any major banding at ALL on the disc while viewing (which is rare with animated material). Europe's busiest forums, with independent news and expert reviews, for TVs, Home Cinema, Hi-Fi, Movies, Gaming, Tech and more. Its storytelling isn’t quite as polished as the best in the series but, it strikes many of the right chords, resulting in an entertaining film that can be enjoyed by the whole family. Minions: The Rise of Gru Long before he becomes the master of evil, Gru is just a 12-year-old boy in 1970s suburbia, plotting to take over the world from his basement. Fine detail is definitely improved compared to the Blu-ray, but facial textures appear smooth and featureless when seen from normal viewing distances, even when projected on a larger screen.
